My name is Melody Greene, and I have a confession to make.
I slept with my student, a senior in high school.
I had multiple orgasms.
In multiple positions.
I slept with my student and I enjoyed it.
I slept with my student and I’d do it all over again if I could turn back time.
My name is Melody Greene, and I got kicked out of my position as a teacher and did my walk of shame a la Cersei Lannister from the principal’s office, minutes after said principal threatened to call the cops on me.
My name is Melody Greene, and I did something bad because it made me feel good.
Here is why it was totally worth it.
Defy is a smutty, insta-love, insta-lust short novella. Defy is a prequel to Vicious (Sinners of Saint #1). It is recommended, but unnecessary, to read Defy before reading Vicious.
As far as novellas go, this one has SO much content. I feel like we got so much and I was in love with all of it. It’s easy for a teacher/student romance to be pretty basic but Jamie and Melody’s story is not.
I loved Melody. She was so aware of all the Hotholes. She saw things in them that we hadn’t previously thought to think of them. We get a little bit more of how an outsider sees these boys. It definitely left me wanting more from Dean and Trent!!
I can’t handle how perfect Jamie and Melody were for each other. Forget what you know about forbidden romance; forget what you know about age gaps; these two couldn’t be more perfect for each other. They don’t let their circumstances get in the way of their relationship. What they have is so real and so true it’s hard to imagine that Jamie is just a senior in High School and Melody is just an unhappy teacher when they meet.
Jamie sees Melody in a way she hasn’t seen herself in a long time and he helps her get back to a place where she can be happy. Melody is aware of the world Jamie lives in but doesn’t give into it and surrender to it and that helps Jamie stay above water. They balance each other out and help each other up and I couldn’t have loved them more!
