Release Tour- Safe Bet – Review

Safe Bet by Monica Murphy

Release Date: January 10th, 2017

Series: The Rules

Genre: Contemporary Romance

Sydney Walker’s new job is perfect. As the live-in nanny to the most famous quarterback in the NFL and his beautiful wife, she couldn’t have it any better. Their kids are adorable. Her bosses are more than generous. Plus, there are hot football players at the house all the time. Life can’t get much better than this.

Until her life turns into an absolute nightmare. The media is abuzz with rumors that she and her boss Drew Callahan are having a torrid affair. Everyone knows the truth—except the public. So Drew’s wife Fable comes up with the perfect idea.

She creates a fake relationship between Sydney and one of the rookie players on Drew’s team. Wade Knox is forever indebted to Drew and Fable and readily agrees to the set up. Pretending to be in a romantic relationship with the hot nanny for a week—how hard can it be?

Crazy how it only takes one week for two people to fall head over heels in love…

(This mash-up new adult romance features characters from both the One Week Girlfriend series and The Rules series.)

Safe Bet is the fourth book in the Rules series but can be read as a standalone. It also features characters from the One Week Girlfriend books and if you haven’t read it yet (Guilty!) you will want to make it your next read. Drew and Fable are adorable and I definitely needed more of them and their story when I was done with Safe Bet.

Sydney is learning how to stand on her own two feet while Wade is 100% focused on maintaining his new spot in the 49ers. Neither is looking for someone, let alone someone serious, until they find each other.

Their connection is undeniable from the beginning and while both try to convince themselves and each other it’s all pretend, their connection becomes more and more real every second they spend together. Fable throws them together to help keep her family from scandal and Sydney from a bad reputation but she’s also secretly hoping they will connect. While Sydney and Wade are both reluctant at first, they are also intrigued by each other and go along with the fake relationship.

I breezed through this book. It’s just so much fun and lighthearted. Sydney and Wade have a connection neither wants to believe but they also don’t want to walk away from it and that hooked me right from the start. I loved watching their relationship develop and watching them connect and open up to one another.
