Ten Tiny Breaths #3
This series has been wonderful so far and this book did not disappoint. This is the story of Cain and Charlie.
Charlie has a lot of secrets. She needs to get a lot of money and quick so she can disappear. However, the new life she finds herself in, threatens to be something she’s not willing to let go of.
Cain is a strip bar owner with a dark past. He has had many things go wrong in his life and he finds that he’s making some kind of amends by taking care of his employees. He has a strict set of rules and doesn’t ever stray from them. As soon as Charlie walks into his club, Cain is unsure how to proceed or act around her.
Both believe they don’t deserve much based on their past, but, will they be able to stay away from each other despite their building attraction?
After the first two books in this series, I love Cain and really wanted to see him happy. I was very interested in his background and K.A. Tucker did not disappoint. Everything in Cain’s past has led him to this point in his life and you really find yourself hoping that him and Charlie can make this relationship work.
As soon as you meet Charlie you KNOW that her circumstances are not of her own making and you really root for her. You want her to reach her goal of getting away, but you also want her to find a way of getting away from her circumstances without breaking Cain’s heart in the process.
We are simple two good people with equally flawed pasts, looking for perfect futures.
And I think we’ve found it, in each other.
There’s plenty of drama to keep you on the edge of your seat, while also maintaining all the hot romance you need. You also get more of an idea of where Nate the bouncer comes from. Before this book, I hadn’t thought too much about him, but after hearing about his background and his relationship with Cain, you can’t help but love him and want all the best for him too.
This book briefly mentions Ben’s time in Cancun and a date to Storm’s wedding, which is all I need to jump right into the next book in this series.
